CLAT 2020 ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

CLAT 2020 Eligibility Criteria is primarily based on two factors:

1.Educational Qualification

2.Age Limit

CLAT 2020 Educational Qualification: Candidate who has completed 10+2 or equivalent examination from any board is eligible for applying to CLAT 2020 Exam.

 Minimum marks required for different categories:

45% marks for General/ Other Backward Class (OBC)/ Specially abled persons categories

40% marks for Scheduled Class (SC)/ Scheduled Tribe (ST) categories

Note: Candidates who are appearing for their Class 12th examination in March/ April 2020 can also apply for CLAT 2020 Exam. These candidates have to give evidence of passing their Class 12th exam at the time of admission. Candidates failing to fulfill this will not be considered eligible for admission through CLAT 2020 exam.

CLAT 2020 Age Limit: No upper age limit has been prescribed to apply for CLAT 2020 Exam.

CLAT 2020 SYLLABUS

CLAT 2020 syllabus is mentioned below:

English (including comprehension)

In this section candidates will be examined on their understanding of the passage and its central theme, word meanings used therein, etc. the grammar section needs correction and incorrect in grammatical sentences, filling the blanks in sentences with appropriate words, etc.

General knowledge And Current Affairs 

In this section candidates will be evaluated on the general awareness of static general knowledge. Questions on current affairs will examine candidates knowledge of national and international current affairs going on in the country and worldwide.

Mathematics

The mathematics section will examine the candidate’s knowledge of elementary mathematics.

Legal Aptitude

This section deals with candidate’s interest toward the study of law, research aptitude and problem solving abilities. Provided prepositions may not be “true”, but candidates will need to assume the “truth” behind prepositions and answer the questions accordingly.

Logical Reasoning

It section may include the variety of logical reasoning questions such as syllogism, logical sequences or analogies etc

CLAT 2020 EXAM PATTERN

CLAT 2020 is an exam for testing one's aptitude and reasoning abilities. CLAT 2020 comprises of five sections: 

Verbal Ability, 

Mathematics, 

Logical Reasoning, 

General Knowledge

and Legal Aptitude.

Every question holds 1 marks and for each incorrect attempt, 0.25 marks is deducted.

CLAT 2020 ADMISSION PROCESS

CLAT-2020 admission process is completed through centralised online counselling which is conducted by the CLAT Consortium Office. CLAT 2020 admission process starts after filling the application form then qualifying in the national-level exam of CLAT. At the time of form filling, the candidate needs to fill, in order of preference, the choice of NLUs. CLAT 2020 seat allotment is done on the basis of merit-cum-preference of the candidates. CLAT 2020 rank and choices opted (in the order of preference) is taken in consideration for seat allotment. The result of seat allotment is released alongside CLAT result.

CLAT 2020 CUT OFF

CLAT’s cut-offs for every Institute are  declared individually by each CLAT Participating Institutes. CLAT’s Cut Off are important as they form the basis of counselling and seat allotment process.

The cut offs of CLAT 2020 are calculated considering multiple factors that have been mentioned below:

  • 1.CLAT Paper difficulty level

  • 2.Availability of seats

  • 3.Average marks scored by students in the CLAT Exam

  • 4.Total test population.
