Delhi University: DU Admissions 2021: Dates, Eligibility, Application Forms

The Admission process of Delhi University 2021 is going to begin with the release of application forms on its official website du.ac.in tentatively from July 15, 2021. 

Admissions in Undergraduate degrees is done through the DU UG Admission portal and 12 courses are offered through the DUET entrance exam organised by the NTA (National Testing Agency). 

Admission in DU UG courses is also offered to be based on the merit scores of these exams. 

8-9 DU cut offs rounds are being expected for the year 2021 admissions in various courses and colleges.

DU Eligibility Criteria 2021 

Delhi University released the eligibility criteria for the colleges participating in the DU admission process, Given below are the eligibility criteria for various courses offered by DU colleges.

DU Eligibility Criteria 2021 for courses allowing merit-based admissions in Arts/Social Sciences

 

Course

Eligibility Requirement

BA. (Hons.) English

1. Candidates must have an aggregate of at least 45% marks in the qualifying examination.

2. The merit is going to be done on the basis of 1 language compulsorily and other 3 best subjects.   

3. English is a must in the best fours. 

B.A. (Hons.) Hindi

1. Candidates must have an aggregate of atleast 45% marks in the qualifying examination.

2. Candidates securing 40% marks in aggregate and 50% marks in the subject concerned for the Honours Course.

3. The merit is going to be done on the basis of 1 language compulsorily and other 3 best subjects.   

4. Hindi is a must in the best fours.

5. Applicants who have passed the intermediate Examination of an Indian University/Board with at least 40% marks in the aggregate and also “Prabhakar in Hindi” shall be eligible for admission.

B.A. (Hons.) Economics

1. Candidates must have an aggregate of atleast 45% marks in the qualifying examination.

2. The merit is going to be done on the basis of 1 language compulsorily and other 3 best subjects.   

3. Candidates must have passed Mathematics at the qualifying exam for admission to B.A. (Honours) in Economics.

 

DU Eligibility Criteria 2021 for courses allowing merit-based admissions in the Faculty of Commerce and Business Studies

B.Com (Hons.)

1. Candidates must have an aggregate of at least 45% marks in the qualifying examination.

2.Candidates must have passed Mathematics/Business Mathematics in the qualifying exam for admission to B. Com. (Hons.).

3. Selection of the candidates will be purely based on the marks obtained in the exams. The subjects Including one language and three best subjects as per the following:

a) 45% aggregate or more in English/Hindi and combination of best three, out of these: 

b) Mathematics, Accountancy, Economics and Business Studies/ Commerce.

c) Any other subject out of the above mentioned subjects in the best three will lead to a deduction of 1% per subject in the aggregate percentage.

B.Com

1. Candidates must have an aggregate of at least 45% marks in the qualifying examination.

2. Selection of the candidates will be purely based on the marks obtained in the exams. The subjects Including one language and three best subjects as per the following:

a) 45% aggregate or more in English/Hindi and combination of best three, out of these: 

b) Mathematics, Accountancy, Economics and Business Studies/ Commerce.

c) Any other subject out of the above mentioned subjects in the best three will lead to a deduction of 1% per subject in the aggregate percentage.

 

DU Eligibility Criteria 2021 for courses allowing merit-based admissions to courses offered through Faculty of Mathematical Sciences 

 

B.Sc. (Hons.) Computer Science

1. Mathematics, one language and two other subjects are to be included in the best 4.

a) 60% or more marks in Mathematics

b) 60% or more marks in aggregate of four subjects including Mathematics, one language and two other subjects: Physics, Chemistry and Computer Science/ Informatics Practices.

 

2. The admission would be purely based on the aggregate of class XII scores in the best four academic subjects: compulsorily one language, Mathematics and two out of Physics, Chemistry and Computer Science/ Informatics Practices.

3. The students from other streams, (with Mathematics in Class XII) can also apply but 2% of deduction will be made in their aggregate. 

i.e. Mathematics + one language + two academic subjects from those streams.

B.Sc. (Hons.) Mathematics / Statistics

1. 50% marks in Mathematics

2. An Aggregate of at least 45% marks in the qualifying examination.

 

DU Eligibility Criteria 2021 for courses allowing merit-based admissions to courses offered through Faculty of Sciences and Inter-Disciplinary & Applied Sciences

 

B.Sc. (Hons.) Chemistry/ Physics/ Polymer Science

An aggregate percentage of 55 in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics with one compulsory language (55%)

B.Sc. (Hons.) Home Science

An aggregate percentage of 50 in any of any three of the following subjects: At least one subject: Physics/Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology/ and other Subjects from List B.

 

How to Apply?

Candidates have to Register with a username and password, The same credentials will be used for all application/log in stages further.

Now the Candidates have to fill in the application form once log in using their credentials. The details to be entered by the candidates include their address, personal and academic details, and best of four marks.

Once the details are filled in now the candidates must upload the following documents in the prescribed size and format:

Passport size photograph

Scanned signature

Class 10th certificate/mark sheet to verify date of birth (Self attested)

Self attested Cass 11th and 12th certificate/mark sheet or self-attested copy of the mark sheet obtained by the school and the board.

Valid SC/ST/OBC/PWD/KM/CW certificate, if applicable (Self attested)

Self attested copies of Sports/ECA certificates (If applicable)

 

Once the candidates upload the necessary documents ,they are required to pay the fee. DU application fee has to be paid as per the category any candidate belongs to. 

Fee payment is to be made through online modes only: Debit cards/Credit cards/Net banking.

Selection Process

Candidates are required to apply for the entrance exam, Application forms will be available on the official website from 15 July 2021. 

Application fee is refundable in any circumstances and can be paid only through online modes, Candidates can pay the application fee via credit card/ debit card or net banking.

Once the student qualifies the entrance exam, Candidates will be selected for the counselling process. 

Registrations for the counselling rounds will be through online modes. 

In the counselling session, candidates are required to bring their original documents along with the photocopies, Also the candidates will have to submit their counselling fee beforehand.  

Once all these steps are cleared, The student will be allotted seats on the basis of their scores, Group discussion, Interview round, Document Verification etc

DU Result 2021 

The DU result  2021 will be based on the merit for various courses. Percentage of class XII exams will be taken into consideration to compile the final merit list. The cut off lists will start coming out once the entrances for all the courses are done. 

The Fixed date of DU Result 2021 is yet to be announced.
